Congressman Roger Marshall is offering internships in his Washington, D.C., office throughout the year in 3 sessions: Spring, Summer and Fall.
These internships provide an opportunity for students to work closely with the Congressman and his staff, and assist our efforts to represent Kansans on Capitol Hill.
In Washington, DC, interns' responsibilities will vary. Duties will include assisting constituents, Capitol tours, research legislation for the Member and legislative staff, attend hearings and briefings and answer constituent letters on various issues before the House. Our office will also ensure that duties will also be fit to accommodate a student's specific area of interest. As a result, interns learn about the legislative process and the many other functions of a congressional office. Although all internships in all offices are unpaid, students gain invaluable work experience. The hours are flexible to accomodate students' hectic course schedules, but generally run 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. when Congress is in session, and 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. when not in session.
