WASHINGTON D.C.- Today Congressman Marshall was proud to vote for $5.7 billion in border security funds, fully funding President Trump’s request. The funding was included as part of a partial continuing resolution that funds several agencies through February 8th. The bill now goes to the Senate where it faces an uncertain future.

Today, two members of the U.S. House of Representatives introduced legislation aimed at ending a predatory commercial lending practice that, according to media reports, has ballooned in recent years. Dr. Marshall and Rep Velázquez (D-NY) introduced the “Small Business Lending Fairness Act.” Their legislation would put an end to the practice of small business borrowers signing an obscure legal document known as a “confession of judgement,” which essentially requires the borrower to waive their legal rights.

WASHINGTON, D.C.-Last week the House passed H.R. 1318, the Preventing Maternal Deaths Act of 2017, legislation that aims to address maternal deaths across America by improving data collection analysis. Congressman Marshall, an early cosponsor of the bill, worked with patient advocates in urging Congress to pass this much needed legislation.
