Press Release

SALINA, KS – On Thursday, U.S. Congressman Roger Marshall, M.D., helped welcome two truckloads of much needed Personal Protection Equipment to Kansas. These supplies, which include face masks, gloves, and gowns, will be much needed should the COVID-19 infection rate increase in Kansas. This equipment is needed to protect nurses, doctors, respiratory therapists, and other medical staff. These supplies are now available as President Trump has declared a national emergency.

“I’m very proud of the great work Adjutant General Lee Tafanelli of the Kansas National Guard, and his airman are doing for the state of Kansas," said Rep. Marshall. "They and the folks at KDHE are working extra hard to stay prepared. My friends in the medical field have been calling and texting me regularly, asking me when this equipment will get here, and I’m glad it’s starting to arrive. We have to keep our doctors and nurses healthy so we can take care of patients!”

Congressman Marshall also visited with Governor Laura Kelly, and made a visit to the KDHE lab where the virus testing is done. For updates and resources regarding COVID-19, you can go to marshall.house.gov/coronavirus
