Press Release

Yesterday, Congressman Roger Marshall, M.D., introduced with Reps. Jim Costa (D-CA), David Rouzer (R-NC), Sanford Bishop (D-OH), and Jeff Fortenberry (R-NE), a resolution commending the federal Food for Peace program for its impact on global hunger relief efforts and urging for further funding for the program. Following the introduction, Congressman Marshall issued the following statement:

“The Food for Peace program has served as a vital program reducing hunger and improving global food security across the world,” said Dr. Marshall. “Nutrition is a key driver of well-being. The program not only helps families, women, and children in conflict areas and areas affected by natural disasters, but it also helps Kansan farmers reach more markets for the high quality products they produce. As a Kansan, I’m humbled to continue to carry the torch that President Dwight Eisenhower once held when he originally signed this program into law.”
