SALINA – Today the U.S. Department of the Treasury and IRS launched the “Get My Payment” web application. The FREE app allows qualifying taxpayers who filed their tax return in 2018 or 2019 but did not provide their banking information on either return to submit direct deposit information. Once they do, their Economic Impact Payment will be deposited directly in their bank accounts. “Get My Payment” also allows all eligible taxpayers to track the status of their payment.

“I applaud the Trump Administration and IRS for taking this additional measure in creating this resource to further streamline getting this money into the hands of Kansans who need it,” said U.S. Congressman Roger Marshall, M.D.

Earlier this week, Rep. Marshall received an update from U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin on the implementation of the CARES Act and the administration of Economic Impact Payments to Americans. Secretary Mnuchin indicated that checks began to be transmitted electronically or sent through the mail on Tuesday. As many as 80 million qualifying Americans will receive these funds by the end of Wednesday.

“This money can’t come a moment too soon for Kansas families trying to get through this crisis,” said Rep. Marshall.
