WASHINGTON - U.S. Congressman Roger Marshall issued the following statement in response to President Trump’s request for additional funding for the CDC to continue its fight against the Coronavirus outbreak and keep the American population safe.

“I applaud President Trump’s request for additional funding for the Centers for Disease Control and support the administration’s efforts to keep Americans safe and prevent an outbreak of this deadly disease in Kansas and elsewhere,” said Rep. Marshall. “I have been in contact with CDC and other officials at the Department of Health and Human Services and look forward to future updates. As a physician, I am concerned about the possibility of a global pandemic. The disease is still rapidly spreading in other parts of the world so it remains vital we continue to dedicate resources and funding to fight the outbreak.”
