Congressman Roger Marshall

Representing the 1st District of Kansas

House Passes Tax Reform 2.0

September 28, 2018
Press Release

WASHINGTON D.C.-Today the house passed Tax Reform 2.0.

Congress promised the American people more jobs, fairer taxes, and bigger paychecks. With the Tax Cuts & Jobs Act, we delivered on those promises, today the House passed the  Tax Reform 2.0 package which will make the individual tax cuts permanent .

“Tax Reform 2.0 protects hardworking everyday Americans and small businesses by making the individual tax cuts permanent,” Marshall said. “We’ve seen the tremendous growing success that modernizing our tax code has had on our economy and our businesses. Jobless claims are at their lowest in decades, there have been nearly 1.7 million new jobs created since tax reform was enacted; we must continue this investment and today’s vote locks in these key provisions.”

The Tax Reform 2.0 package includes:

H.R. 6760, the Protecting Family and Small Business Tax Cuts Act of 2018

  • Locks in tax cuts for middle-class families and small businesses that are already having great benefits for Americans.

H.R. 6757, the Family Savings Act of 2018

  • Helps families and individuals save for their future now that they are seeing their paychecks increase and are keeping more of their hard-earned money.

H.R. 6756, the American Innovation Act of 2018

  • Spurs American innovation by helping entrepreneurs move from the kitchen table to Main Street and beyond.
